Fortune's Wheel, Featured in American Art Collector Magazine
Fortune's Wheel, an oil painting by Boston Artist, Melody Phaneuf is featured in the March 2010 issue of American Art Collector magazine.
About The Painting
Fortune's Wheel is about transformation that occurs through sudden and dramatic change. The Jester hangs upside down by one foot, reminiscent of the Hanged Man in the Tarot. Like breadcrumbs leading out of the woods, three cards leave a trail of clues. A veil obscures an exhibition poster yoking the Jester to the wheel, where once fresh roses ascend. Flameless candle, well-worn map, postcard, and coins are strewn; the sand in the hourglass is running out. Light from two sources suggests that disorder rules, but the Jester still smiles, having faith in the outcome.
Fortune's Wheel will be on exhibit at The Guild of Boston Artist March 4-28, 2010. The Guild of Boston Artists is located at 162 Newbury St, Boston, MA 02116. Hours are Tuesday-Sunday, 10:30-5:30.
