Petites Nuages, literally " little clouds" is a French expression meaning a bit of something.

The term is suggestive of light.  In color mixing it could refer to lightening of color by adding white or brightening a tone by applying a colored glaze.

I adopted the phrase for these reproductions-bits of fine art-which lighten and brighten their surroundings.
